Enjoy all the flavors of a dreamy cinnamon roll in these easy to prep Overnight Cinnamon Roll Oats!
It’s starting. The hot weather. I know some of you probably want to throw garbage at me for complaining about the heat, but if you have ever lived in Phoenix, you would understand where I am coming from.
We brought the baby to a spring training game last week and it was about 90 degrees and we almost died. My poor baby was so hot and started getting really mad by the 2nd inning. This can’t bode well for the summer!
So needless to say with the rising temps, I am over hot foods, especially for breakfast. I started craving overnight oats again.
If you have never had overnight oats, I can tell you that some people can’t handle the texture and the fact that its cold, but I am totally down with the overnight oats!
I love that I can just mix everything up the night before and have breakfast just waiting for me in the morning when I am trying to rush out the door.
My inspiration for these overnight oats came from my cinnamon roll oatmeal. I wanted to create an overnight version.
Oh goodness are these yummy! Plenty of cinnamon flavor and then if you really want to treat yourself, spoon a big ol’ dollop of cream cheese topping on top and you’ve got yourself one easy, but seriously decadent but not too-bad-for-you breakfast!
Recipe Tips and Suggestions:
- I recommend using old fashioned oats over quick oats for overnight oats. Quick oats end up being softer and mushier.
- Any type of milk will work for this recipe (dairy, almond, soy, oat, etc.).
- You can also try different types of yogurt. I like vanilla, but plain works too!
- Store leftover or portioned servings (if meal prepping) in covered containers in the fridge. The oats are best enjoyed in 3-5 days.
- If meal prepping, I would keep the cream cheese topping stored separate from the oats so it stays nice and thick like frosting.

This looks OUTRAGEOUSLY delicious, Stephanie! And girl, I’m with you all the way. I’m already sick of the heat. Last weekend it was nearly 90 degrees here in Sacramento. NOT OKAY. Let’s revolt and move somewhere snowy :)

It can vary depending on the type/brand of yogurt you choose to use. I recommend punching in the ingredients on your own into a site like My Fitness Pal or Spark Recipes to calculate that info.

Is this 1 serving or 2? Mine came out looking double (also in a mason jar) to yours. Though, maybe because I switched out the vanilla extract and brown sugar with vanilla protein powder…?
-
Stephanie —
Hi Colleen, it is one serving. How much protein powder did you use? I have never used it with overnight oats so I can only assume that if all of the other ingredients were measured correctly, it must be due to the protein powder. What is super thick or runny?

Hi Stephanie,
Thanks so much for this recipe! Came out great. I am wondering how long in the fridge this will last? I made 1 serving for breakfast but it is definitely enough for a few days for me!
Thanks so much!

I just made these and popped them in the fridge for tomorrow! Can not wait to try them. I added a pack of my apple pie flavored shake mix and I’m sure the flavors will compliment nicely! I’ll be sure to report back with my verdict!

Made this exactly as written and way too much yogurt. Maybe ¼ c would be perfect.

This was very tasty. The 3/4 cup of yogurt made it a little “soupy”, but we still liked it. Next time I will just add some more oats to thicken it up.
