The seventh grade Tigers
were unable to contain the
wide running of the speedy
Rivercresl backs in last
Thursday night 's game which
ended with a score of 20-8 in
favor of the Rebels
Curtis Chesshire sedred six
points for the Tigers from the
Rivifrcrest 4 yard line and
Victor Carrell swept for the
two extra points
The Rebels made one
touchdown in the first half
and in the third and fourth
quarters swept the ends for
two more scores against the
Tigers Their extra points
brought the final score to 20-8.
For the eighth grade Tigers
it was a different story Stevie
Joe Evans had an outstanding
night as he scored five
touchdowns for the Tigers on
runs of 42. 28, 31 and six
yards Tracy Owens and
David Cates also scored
touchdowns and extra points,
making the final score 44 6 in
favor of the Tigers
After Evans scored on the
second play of the game, the
Tigers kicked off to River
crest and after fumbling, a
Rebel raced 97 yards for the
only Rivercrest score, mak-
ing it Tigers 8. Rebels 6
Other Tiger touchdowns
brought the score to 44-6 at
halftime
There was no more scoring
in the game as the Tigers'
second team offense kept the
ball moving but did not score
against Rivercrest
Coach Jack Phillips said.
The Tigers' entire team
played a good ball game,
except for the one mistake on
the kickoff This is the first
score against the Tigers in
four games."

Franklin County Sheriff
Bobby Biggerstaff said this
week two black males are
being sought in connection
with the robbery of Doc
Gadlin on Tuesday night, Oct.
1. Approximately $500.00 in
cash was taken from Gadlin.
Biggerstaff said the two
black males evidently entered
Gadlin's home while he was
away and unscrewed the light
globes. When Gadlin returned
home he was hit over the head
with a stick of stove wood and
the cash was taken.
Gadlin was taken to
Franklin County Hospital
where he remained overnight.
Biggerstaff reported that a
county resident saw two men
cutting wire from Wood
County Electric poles in the
vicinity of the Carl Newsome
home on Sunday night. The
wire thieves fled when the
county resident approached.
He chased them but lost them
on
and reported the incident to
the Sheriff’s office.
