Groove Adventure Rave take place in another world, that's being ruled by an emperor or something. Then you have Demon Card that have more control over everything, it's a group that well took over and is worldwide known as the cause for all the evil and people do not oppose them as they are very strong. And then you have Haru the main character of this show and as you might guess he's off to destroy Demon Card. I'll start of by saying that I hate the begining of this anime they more or less skipped the first volume and jumped straight in to the second manga volume so some things feels strange... well for me whose reading the manga it is feels strange but I think most people would feel that it could be better in the start. And since it jumpes to the second book in the begining Im gonna tell you most things that happen in the first volume even the stuff that they show later in the anime.
Ok it all start 50 years ago when there was a big war and the swordsaint Shiba and Plue fought against... well to tell you the truth I havent the slightest idea who or what county he was fighting, either way Shiba is the good guy. Either way in this war there was demonic stones called Dark Bring (Im the Dark Bring have there own mind or not Im not sure It seems to me that the big ones can think and control things the way they want to. And Plue is kinda like a dog... a white dog with a carrot for a nose, Plue is a Rave warrior that helps Shiba) These Dark Bring are immense stones of power and destruction and what's so special about these then... well they can't be destroyed by any normal weapon, too fight evenly with a Dark Bring you have to have the holy stones of Rave. And only one person can use it and that is Shiba. In the end of the war Shiba destroyed the last Dark Bring or so he thought as it exploded and destroyed 1/10 of the world as it escaped and Rave was scattered through out the world. And Plue was gone as well.
50 years later Demon Card rule the world but on a small isolated Iland where thay have yet been lives Haru Glory with his sister Sakura. His father dissapered 15 years agog and his mother deid 10 years ago so they live alone with this strange flower stuck on their wall. One day Haru fishes up Plue and start taking care of him not long after that Shiba back home in search of Plue and it just happen to be the same iland as Haru lives on. They meet and become friends and Haru agrees to give Plue back to him as Plue is the only one who knows where Rave is. But Demon Card is in search of Shiba for what they want is Rave. While Shiba fights one of their thugs he notice that he can't use Rave anymore as it has chosen a new master... who else than Haru. He beats the thug up and tell his sister all about it and how he's supposed to save the world and so on. When he mentions Rave she starts panicing and won't let him leave. And as it turnes out his father Gale did not abandon them but left them to search for Rave so that he could defeat Demon Card. After alot of hassle Haru decides to set of even if it is against his sisters wishes only to find out that she's ok with it because he promised to come back. So he sets out to fight the remaning 4 Raves and to destroy Demon Card who uses Dark Brings as their weapons. He also recived a sword from Shiba the ten commandments that draws power from Rave to change inte 10 diffrent forms. Also other people join him and his cause.
So now you now the story.
Animation: It's crisp and follows the way that the manga is drawn nice bright colours. And for some reason the blood is black. Other than that it's nothing out of the ordinary. Oh and they don't reuse old clips all to much the only thing that I can remember is that they use the same clip for when the sword change chapes. Oh by the way when someones really pissed you'll see it quite clearly.
The fights: Well as most fights there alot of talking in betwen when they fight like talking about how they did that or saying what kind of power they have or just talking about how weak the other person is, maybe some flashback and stuff like that too. But I do love it when Haru really let lose with his Ten Commandments, well what can I say he really does kick ass when he let lose and since it have ten diffrent form the attacks changes so it's not the same thing over and over again. He mixes a bit and stuff like that, got to love it.
Sound: It's as I think good, I find that most japanese voice acting is quite good and so is this. Nothing out of the ordinary here either. Oh and I must say I do like the first intro song alot, one of my favorite opening songs from now on. Oh and there one song or rather background music when they fight that I like alot it fits in and all.
Story: You alredy know the story... what to ad... well this anime do not have a a proper end. Since I havent read all of the manga yet I don't know how far in it goes but I do know that they don't have all of it in it. So they don't have an end, that kinda leaves everything up in the air. Maybe they plan on doing the rest of it some other time but it's still a big minus.
Character: The characters are quite cool in their own way, even if they are kinda typical. I do kinda get disturbed by Harus "That's what my sister said" as he says it alot and it's getting annoying. Everyone in Harus gang have a reson to be there, it's not like there just there to save the world or something like that even if it's included. Elie is a girl with incredible luck when it come to gambling and is there to find her lost memory and find out about her self. Musica is a silver claimer that can manipulate silver to diffrent kind of weapons, he's there because he's looking for a some kind of special ship. And Haru is there well to kick Demon Cards ass and destroy all the Dark Brings as that was the the task that Shiba handed down to him, he's also in it to fins out about his dad if he's alive or not. Not to much character development if you ask me it's more concentrated on the action and stuff like that.
Value: This is probably not an anime I would watch over again. Maybe once more in a year or two or just my favorite parts.
Enjoyment: I didint enjoy this all to much most because I alredy knew what was going to happen and it kinda make stuff a tad more boring. And when they got past the place I was it got a bit more intresting but I was tired and stuff from work so I didint have much energy for it. But if you count all that out it was pretty good.
